Sanjaya narrates Arjuna's physical and emotional state after hearing Krishna's explanation. 'Etac chrutvā vacanaṁ keśavasya'—having heard (śrutvā) this (etat) speech (vacanam) of Krishna (keśavasya). 'Kṛtāñjaliḥ vepamānaḥ kirīṭī'—with folded hands (kṛtāñjaliḥ), trembling (vepamānaḥ), Arjuna (kirīṭī). 'Namaskṛtvā bhūya evāha kṛṣṇaṁ'—having saluted (namaskṛtvā), again (bhūyaḥ), indeed (eva), he said (āha) to Krishna (kṛṣṇaṁ). 'Sagadgadaṁ bhītabhītaḥ praṇamya'—with a faltering voice (sagadgadam), very frightened (bhītabhītaḥ), having bowed (praṇamya). Arjuna is completely overwhelmed—trembling, with folded hands, faltering voice, very frightened. Despite Krishna's explanation, the cosmic vision has left him terrified. This verse shows Arjuna's continued fear and prepares for his further words in the following verses.
How this ancient wisdom applies to your daily life

This verse reveals that understanding truth intellectually doesn't always remove its emotional impact. Arjuna has heard Krishna's explanation, but he's still trembling, with a faltering voice, very frightened. When you see profound truths, understanding them intellectually doesn't necessarily remove the emotional response—you can understand something and still be overwhelmed by it. The cosmic vision shows that truth affects you on multiple levels—intellectual, emotional, physical—and understanding one level doesn't cancel the others.

When have you understood something intellectually but still felt its emotional impact? Does seeing profound reality affect you on multiple levels? How does recognizing that understanding doesn't remove emotional impact change your approach to truth?
