Bhagavad Gita Chapter 15, Verse 12
यदादित्यगतं तेजो जगद्भासयतेऽखिलम् | यच्चन्द्रमसि यच्चाग्नौ तत्तेजो विद्धि मामकम् ||
yad āditya-gataṁ tejo jagad bhāsayate 'khilam yac candramasi yac cāgnau tat tejo viddhi māmakam
The light that resides in the sun and illuminates the entire world, and that which is in the moon and in fire—know that light to be Mine.
Krishna reveals His presence in the material world: 'Yad āditya-gataṁ tejo jagad bhāsayate 'khilam'—the light that resides in the sun and illuminates the entire world. The sun's light isn't just solar energy—it's Krishna's energy. 'Yac candramasi yac cāgnau'—and that which is in the moon and in fire. The moon's radiance and fire's light are also Krishna's energy. 'Tat tejo viddhi māmakam'—know that light to be Mine. All light in the material world—from the sun, moon, and fire—comes from Krishna. This isn't pantheism (everything is God)—it's understanding that God's energy is present in everything. The sun, moon, and fire have their own existence, but their light is Krishna's energy. Understanding this transforms how you see the material world: not as separate from the Supreme, but as permeated by His energy. This verse begins revealing Krishna's all-pervasiveness—His energy is in everything, illuminating everything.
