Krishna reveals the Supreme as the controller. 'Īśvaraḥ sarvabhūtānāṁ hṛddeśe 'rjuna tiṣṭhati'—the Supreme Lord (īśvaraḥ) dwells (tiṣṭhati) in the region of the heart (hṛd-deśe) of all beings (sarva-bhūtānām), O Arjuna (arjuna). 'Bhrāmayan sarvabhūtāni yantrārūḍhāni māyayā'—causing to revolve (bhrāmayan) all beings (sarva-bhūtāni) as if mounted on a machine (yantra-ārūḍhāni), by maya (māyayā). This is the key teaching: the Supreme Lord is present in the heart of every being, and He controls all beings, making them move like puppets on a machine, through maya (His divine power).
