Bhagavad Gita Chapter 18, Verse 71
श्रद्धावाननसूयश्च शृणुयादपि यो नरः | सोऽपि मुक्तः शुभाँल्लोकान्प्राप्नुयात्पुण्यकर्मणाम् ||
śraddhāvān anasūyaś ca śṛṇuyād api yo naraḥ so 'pi muktaḥ śubhāṁl lokān prāpnuyāt puṇya-karmaṇām
And even a person who hears this with faith and without envy will be liberated and will attain the auspicious worlds of those who perform meritorious actions.
Krishna gives assurance about the power of hearing this teaching. 'Śraddhāvān anasūyaś ca śṛṇuyād api yo naraḥ'—and (ca) even (api) a person (yaḥ naraḥ) who hears (śṛṇuyāt) this with faith (śraddhāvān) and without envy (anasūyaḥ). 'So 'pi muktaḥ śubhāṁl lokān prāpnuyāt puṇya-karmaṇām'—he (saḥ) also (api) will be liberated (muktaḥ) and will attain (prāpnuyāt) the auspicious worlds (śubhān lokān) of those who perform meritorious actions (puṇya-karmaṇām). This is the assurance: even just hearing this teaching with faith and without envy leads to liberation and attainment of auspicious worlds. You don't need to be a great scholar or practitioner—even hearing with faith and without envy is enough. This reveals the power of the teaching: it's not just the teaching itself, but hearing it with the right attitude (faith and without envy) that brings liberation.
