Krishna reveals His supervision over creation: 'Mayādhyakṣeṇa prakṛtiḥ sūyate sa-carācaram'—under My supervision (mayā adhyakṣeṇa), material nature (prakṛtiḥ) brings forth (sūyate) the entire universe (sa-carācaram), with all its moving and non-moving beings. 'Hetunānena kaunteya jagad viparivartate'—O Arjuna (kaunteya), by this cause (hetunā anena), the universe (jagat) revolves (viparivartate). The Supreme supervises material nature—He is the supervisor, the overseer. Material nature manifests the universe under His supervision. This is the reason the universe revolves—the cycle of creation and dissolution continues because the Supreme supervises it. This completes the teaching about creation and dissolution: the Supreme supervises material nature, which manifests the universe, which revolves in cycles. This is the Supreme's power: He supervises, yet remains detached.
