Bhima and Bakasura

When a demon demands a village's children, one warrior steps forward.

Story Summary

During their exile, the Pandavas arrive at a village disguised as brahmins, seeking food and shelter. But they find a community paralyzed by fear—every week, the demon Bakasura demands cartloads of food and one human sacrifice. The village has lost countless lives, and now the turn has come to a poor brahmin family. When the family weeps, unable to choose which member to sacrifice, Bhima makes a decision that shocks his brothers: he will take the cart of food to Bakasura himself. What follows is a brutal battle between divine strength and demonic power—a fight that will free the village from its terror and prove once again why Bhima is known as the strongest of the Pandavas.
