Training with Drona
“Discipline forged legends; envy forged rivals.”
Story Summary
Drona, a master of arms carrying the quiet gravity of lived austerity, arrives in Hastinapura to train both Pandavas and Kauravas. Inside the gurukul, rank and luxury disappear; only discipline, repetition, and intent matter. Arjuna discovers a hunger that keeps him awake at night, practicing by lamplight and rain, learning to see only the target and silence everything else. Bhima and Duryodhana clash in strength and pride, while Yudhishthira steadies the brothers. Far from court, a boy named Ekalavya worships Drona from a distance and attains extraordinary skill, forcing a painful question about access, duty, and the price of learning. As tensions rise, whispers spread about a coming public contest—where talent, pride, and destiny will collide.
