Throat Chakra: Center of Expression and Truth
Today's challenge
"Fear of speaking up due to cancel culture and online criticism"

The Throat Chakra, or Vishuddha, is your center of communication, self-expression, and authentic truth. Located at your throat, it governs your ability to speak your truth, express yourself clearly, and listen with understanding. When balanced, you communicate confidently and authentically. When imbalanced, you may experience difficulty expressing yourself, fear of judgment, or speaking without thinking. Chakras can become blocked, underactive, or overactive due to suppression of expression, fear of speaking up, or not being heard. This can lead to throat problems, communication difficulties, feeling silenced, or talking excessively without substance.

"Speech that causes no distress, that is truthful, pleasant and beneficial, and the regular study of scripture — this is called austerity of speech."
The Throat Chakra governs authentic expression and truthful communication. BG 17.15 gives the complete definition of healthy Vishuddha in one verse: speech that does not harm, that is true, that is kind, and that serves something larger than ego. A blocked throat chakra speaks from fear or suppression; an overactive one speaks to wound or control. The Gita's 'austerity of speech' is the daily practice of Vishuddha alignment.
